Bug Description

After installed Ubuntu Hardy, the gkrellkam plugin for gkrellm2 was unable to display properly the webcam picture.
When gkrellm is launched, I can't (or randomly can) see 1 to 4 of my 4 webcam picture...

The webcam I have configured is :
Panel #1 - http://www.fczoom.com/cam.jpg
Panel #2 - http://www.parislive.net/eiffelwebcam1.jpg
Panel #3 - http://wirednewyork.com/webcam/new-york-live.jpg
Panel #4 - http://www.pearlresorts.com/webcam/moorea/image/webcam32.jpg

Thanks for any help.

I can confirm this behavior. in hardy. gkrellkam is either unable to display the downloaded images in gkrellm, or only displays them randomly.
This behavior happens in gnome, kde, openbox, xfce, and fluxbox

Same problem here, Hardy, Gnome desktop. Random loading of http links to images. Same images used to work fine in Feisty and Gutsy.

I have the same problem in Fedora 8, occurred suddenly after one of the updates couple weeks ago (unable to trace which one) so this is not specific to ubuntu only.

Yes, this also occurs in slackware and gentoo.

Same here, Hardy / Gnome.
Using this as image path: http://tools.wikimedia.de/~daniel/potd/potd.php/commons/800x600 and can see that the images are downloaded to /tmp/. When clicking on the gkrellkam panel the image in /tmp/ is launched with the configured image viewer, but doesn't show the image in the panel itself.
