Bug Description

Installing today's ISO image, following the OEM installation guide "Install (OEM setup) in Ubuntu Desktop amd64 for Precise Pre-release" on a HP Mini 210 netbook, testcase: http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/Install/DesktopOem

On test case ID: uoi-003 "End user selection" I entered all the end user details and after a short while I got a dialog box titled "oem-config-remove-gtk" which said:

"Task cannot be monitored or controlled

The connection to the daemon was lost. The background daemon probably crashed.

Details:
It seems that the daemon died."

The kernel log showed that the following had segfaulted:

gnome-pty-helpe[20375]: segfault at 10 ip 00000000000000401cf9 sp 0007ffff76ea4d0 error 4 in gnome-pty-helper[400000+3000]

I was able to close this error dialog box, and then I got the normal login prompt and was able to login correctly.

Still cannot reproduce on HPMini210 after several more attempts. Looks like a sporadic low occurrence bug.

Package set to ubiquity as per the test case's description.

Colin, in the future, can you try to put in apport information if your test image can do so properly? Thanks!
