Bug Description

I'm testing the Lubuntu i386 20120328 image and performing the manual partitioning install I'm not allowed to reduce the size of a 69GB partition. I don't recall ever seeing that before.

Screenshot attached.

Hmmmm, it's OK with Ubuntu i386 20120328, screenshot attached. Maybe it's not ubiquity but rather an Lubuntu artwork thing. I'm going as fast as I can. Please be patient.

OK, it's not just an artwork thing. Reducing the size of that partition with the Lubuntu image is not possible. I'll change this to critical on the GA tracker.

Oops, I already had it marked critical. I'm burned out, time for a break, but this is not truly a ubiquity bug I guess.

Just reviewing my recent bug reports and making a list of what needs to be followed up on.

There's something I wanted to clarify about the screenshot in comment #1. I did not have Gparted open while running the installer, I opened it afterwards just to better display my partition layout, but I notice that the swap was "on", is this correct behavior?

As I said this appears to be limited to the Lubuntu installer, or more accurately the Ubuntu 20120328 image worked OK.

If someone else encounters this with the Lubuntu Beta 2 image I'd recommend quitting the installation, then using Gparted to complete the partitioning, and then beginning the installation again.

I marked this invalid because I've discovered I have what appears to a combination of hardware problems (optical drive failure) and also bad media (specifically TDK CD's).

Changed in ubiquity (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
