Bug Description

On PowerPC, the first screen of ubiquity usually doesn't have any descriptive text. Occasionally I get "You may wish to read the release notes". I'm assuming there should be something else written in the blank space? I'll attach a screenshot.

The page should show a link to the release notes, however this may not display if you do no have internet access. Looking at your screenshot I don't see your wireless connected or a wired network connection. Did you have one available?

Brian, thanks for the explanation and sorry I have been slow in replying to you on this.

You are correct, I wasn't connected to the internet and I hadn't twigged at all that the release notes message only appeared when I was connected.

So the large grey area is supposed to be left blanc is it? I was expecting an introductory message in the language you have selected to be displayed or something like that. Maybe just the ubuntu/canonical logo in the space?
