Can't boot install CD

Downloaded the install CD
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/daily/20120304/precise-alternate-powerpc.iso

Verified MD5 sum.

Burned successfully to CD, verified

Boots to yaboot but no further. Must enter "install" manually, but it still does not boot.

"if in doubt, just press Enter, and if that
doesn't work, type 'install video=ofonly'

This also applies to the daily live image:

 http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/daily-live/20120304/precise-desktop-powerpc.iso

It gets as far as yaboot an then won't go further. It says

"Welcome to yaboot version 1.3.16
Enter "help" to get some basic usage information
boot:"

Entering 'live' or 'install' results in the message "read failed"

this might be with ubiquity

Same problem is present in the Kubuntu-Alternate image:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily/20120305/precise-alternate-powerpc.iso

But not the Kubuntu Live Desktop.

It turns out to be some bad CD RWs which are in good enough shape to read / write / pass verification on some hardware but not on other hardware.
