Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

Trying to restore (unmaximize) a maximized window, as in this test case:
http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/Applications/Unity/Touch/WinMaximizeRestore
Initiation mode (via 3-finger tap) is not possible on maximized windows. The seems to prevent any geture-based method for unmaximizing a window.
Traditional methods for unmaximizing the window work fine: clicking the maximize button in the title bar to toggle the maximization and dragging the title bar down also correctly unmaximizes the window.

This sounds to me like an unimplemented (or buggy) feature in unity. The gestures to support this functionality are available and should be working fine. I'm moving the bug over to unity, but feel free to move it back to utouch-grail if other evidence shows it's a gesture issue.

I get the same thing on a MacBook Pro 5,1 - also out of interest I cannot maximise windows etc by placing at top of screen when using 3-finger MT drag - clicking the titlebar and moving the window using that works but moving the window using three finger tap-drag does not maximise it.

This is not going to make natty due to the complex changes required between both unity compiz plugins

 - Could you please tag some the affected Ubuntu releases?

Thanks for your attention.

Alberto, an automatic script I used to fix some unity bugs (make sure all upstream bugs have downstream tasks and vice versa) caused that, so... No manual intervention for that ;)
