Bug Description

Binary package hint: procps

CONFIG_NF_CT_ACCT in the kernel is being deprecated (probably by 2.6.36). In order to preserve existing behavior the module parameter 'acct' needs to be set. This will preserve existing netfilter connection table accounting behavior in future backported LTS kernels.

How does this patch change behaviour on the current .32 lucid kernel?

Current lucid ships .35, so this shouldn't block the alpha-3 release. Moving to beta.

Martin - the patch deprecating this code is in 2.6.35, so I wanted a user space setting that preserves the existing behavior when the LTS backported kernels are installed. This change to module-init-tools should have no impact on a 2.6.32 kernel. The next Lucid point release will offer the Maverick 2.6.35 kernel as an installation option.

This is best solved in the backport kernel. conf files are evil.
