Bug Description
Ubuntu Desktop (canary) install to
- hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 5gb, nvidia quadro nvs 290)
Simple erase & install; defaults used
sudo dmesg |grep squashfs didn't show any errors, on reboot box just hangs.
** Real issue
little detail was provided by installer; just
"Something went wrong. Please restart the machine."
** Expected outcome
Boot & I'm in new jammy install
** Actual outcome
On reboot the box just hangs
"Attempting Boot from CD-ROM
Attempting Boot from Hard Drive"
and blinking cursor that has remained 10 mins..
---
SideNOTE - installer window was very glitchy once slideshow started.. the glitchy window has not occurred before; but the problems (flashing, window is going black with it looks like non-english text then flashing white & being re-drawn with graphic slide show covering top portion of window & white text at the bottom... flashing isn't constant) is only impacting installer window...
I suspect that's nouveau issues this box has with Ubuntu(GNOME) & Kubuntu(KDE).. No graphic issues occurred outside of installer window though
I've not installed jammy on this box since 5.15 kernel for either Ubuntu/GNOME & Kubuntu/KDE before
(my samsung.galaxy won't take a picture; 'camera failed' so no pic sorry)
