Bug Description

Ubuntu jammy desktop (canary) QA-test install
- hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 5gb, nvidia quadro nvs 290)

After entering the user details; the window turns into a list of messages that somewhat resemble a crash dump & something has gone wrong (it hasn't yet).

After 1-2 seconds (not really enough time to read the messages to affirm they're just install messages as they scroll; so users may still have crash-dump in their mind) the slideshow was drawn covering the top of the window & [slower] messages now at bottom of screen

Window just closes though - slideshow was drawn but on screen only a fraction of a second. No feedback is provided to user; just blank desktop on screen.

** Expected results

Installer window remains on screen telling user what is occurring

** Actual results

Installer window closes as slideshow appeared to start on window... Nothing is now shown.

If installer icon is clicked - I get to start the installer again (not connect to the install I still think is occurring)

** Notes

opening a terminal & I can see `rsync` is running. The boxes HDD LED is flashing, which fits an install actually taking place (it may have finished now as LED isn't flashing like it was), but closing window of installer provides no detail.

If I click the "installation" icon on screen or on dock, I get to start the install again, ie. cannot see the window that closed using what is provided on screen

The install was left running (when dock or desktop install options were tried & it was clear they were going to start again.. I just exited them). I entered detail in this report etc.. ie. box let idle (install running) until I saw evidence it had completed...

on reboot - I've got a new Ubuntu (GNOME) jammy install on box, so install worked perfectly... issue is the installer window closing & thus no feedback provided to user.

Thanks, any chance you could provide the /var/log/installer/ubuntu-desktop-installer.log from the installation?
