Bug Description

Lubuntu hirsite daily QA-test install on
- dell [optiplex] 780 (c2q-q9400, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350)

Maybe loosely related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1888106

Lubuntu QA-testcase: Install with existing partition

** Summary

The partition map shown by `calamares` in the summary for CURRENT shows sda1 as containing Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS (correctly), however so does it in the AFTER

** Expected Behavior

The AFTER drive map should show the new install taking place on sda1, and the 18.04 system being overwritten by this new 21.04/hirsute install

** Actual Behavior

The AFTER drive map still shows "Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS (18.04)" as being on sda1; where it won't be on completion...

This behavior only occurs as the partition is NOT formatted I believe.
The consequence I believe to be minor, as it reports

Flag partition /dev/sda1 as boot
Install Lubuntu on ext4 system partition /dev/sda1
Install boot loader on /dev/sda

Because of another issue, I repeated the same install

this issue (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1923126) is NOT noticed as this time it's recognizing sda1 as containing HIRSUTE which is being replaced by HIRSUTE.. which is correct...

(why the issue isn't noticed very often! most QA installs are either full disk installs where it doesn't show, or replacing the prior install with a 'newer' daily where it won't show..)

I just marked https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1958756 as a duplicate of this report.

In effect the same type of install; same box even by chance the same partition... (bullseye is now bookworm & other releases of course differ)

Lubuntu 21.04 is EOL now, so it was replaced by 22.04 during install.

The CURRENT image showed 21.04 for that partition, the AFTER image also showed 21.04... not 22.04/jammy.

Picture of the screens can be seen on duplicate report.

Lubuntu lunar 'using existing partition' upgrade from 20.04 to 23.04...

this is seen every ~six months on this box, when I use this install to 'replace' an older system with the 'newer' system...

Today I'm finally killing the 20.04 install here & it's becoming my lunar/23.04 install. On subsequent installs I'll be replacing 23.04 with 23.04 so it won't be noticed. (Will next be noticed when I replace the current kinetic/22.10 with 23.10 possibly)

It's a PETTY issue, alas not new.

I can't seem to reproduce this on Noble anymore, but I do know they redid a fair bit of those elements.

Please let me know if this still exists there.
