Doing `sudo cp ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf /etc/fonts/local.conf` and re-installing snaps makes use my font settings.

One symptom of this is that user-installed fonts cannot be used in Firefox.

I would love to see this snapd bug triaged and fixed. It's a huge accessibility problem for users who use font overrides in Firefox (and other applications that support them), and users of leading-edge Ubuntu have no official alternative now that there is no longer an official .deb for Firefox.
