Bug Description

Hello all,
I was trying to install nVidia driver 340 onto Kbuntu 19.04 (also tried Ubuntu 18.04 and Linux mint 19.04)
;
 ALL installs failed. Cannot boot and/or upon booting (Linux Mint 19.04), it will hanged hard.

I am a newbie in Linux, please offer help.
I am using a HP G60 (old laptop) w/ a Nvidia GF8200M G graphics chip.

Also tried download the specific driver from nVidia's web site, file: 340.1070 and 340.1060; and installed them, ALL not working and system hung. Using the X-org driver is fine, but no 3D acceleration.

Any idea?? Please help.

Andrew Cheng - x Windows system engineer.

Was hoping the kernel 5.0.x be a lot better for these kind of support, but now highly disappointed.

Hi.
"try the 390 perhaps
or the ubuntu graphics drivers pp". Is this a guess??? Or you knew this is
a fix??? Sorry, I think I was spending/wasting enough time trying to TS
this issue. In some way, I think the Windows system works better, as far
as legacy driver support goes. Or, should I wait for a newer kernel
release and hope they'll get this fixed?

Please advise. Thanks.
