SuSE 9.0 comes with libsigc++-1.04

The rpm's you need are here (made by former SuSE employee)
:http://guru.unixtech.be/rpm/packages/Development/libsigc++/

You may also need to install other Gnome development
libraries from the SuSE 9.0 disks. Once the required RPMS
are installed, the Inkscape RPM should install fine.
Inkscape runs very well on SuSE in my testing so far.

4.
installed libsigc++12-1.2.5-3suse90.i686.rpm (again AFAICS),
I guess I
installed it before instead of after the devel RPM.

5.
tried again to install inkscape-0.37-suse90.3.i686.rpm
YaST did it without complaining this time, but required CD 3
(for
some libsig 1.0* thing IIRC), perhaps the requirement for a
recent version
is not stated correctly in the RPM:

$ inkscape
inkscape: error while loading shared libraries:
libsigc-1.2.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory

installed libsigc++12-1.2.5-3suse90.i686.rpm again

Inkscape runs!

$ inkscape

** (inkscape:10290): WARNING **: SPIcon: icon allocated less
than requested size

Installation could be simpler IMHO :)
