ISO testing of Lubuntu saucy-desktop-i386.iso:

The system does not reboot, or at least stays with only the backlight on very long (until I gave up).

I just installed using today's saucy-desktop-amd64+mac.iso on a MacBook Air (UEFI). The install went just fine (a couple really trivial indicator glitches that disappeared on mouse over). At then end I got the restart dialog and then progressed to the console after clicking the button. At this point I got about 3 lines of syslog output and then nothing. There was no "remove your install media and hit return" message. I went ahead and hit return and the system rebooted and came up just fine.

Out of 3 desktop test installations I did tonight, one failed to reboot but two worked. I don't think I can get to console. Is there another way to get information to help figure this out?

I completed an installation with Lubuntu Saucy 20131015 i386 having selected Install from the boot menu rather booting to the live DE and at the end I was asked to restart. Doing so the DVD ejected and I'm including a picture of the text displayed (sorry I'm so shaky), but after removing the DVD, closing the tray, and pressing enter nothing ever happened ............ so I finally had to hit the reset button on the PC to complete the reboot.

Did anyone see this with images after 20131015?

We could possibly still amend the release notes if it's still a problem.

I have reported a bug that is the same or at least similar with the bug #966480. (I cannot tell them apart, maybe they are the same bug, maybe not.)

With bug #966480 you're just not told what to do but if you remove the installation and press Enter on the keyboard all is well, but with no message telling a noob what to do they may still do a hard reset.

With this bug no reboot method worked except hitting the reset button on my box.

Can Lars affirm what I'm saying here?

Oops, should have said; "remove installation media" :^(

I hadn't checked 966480. If it happens again, I can try that. But I haven't seen either lately.

This bug affect me after installation of either lubuntu-13.10-desktop-i386.iso or lubuntu-13.10-desktop-amd64.iso (I haven't tried lubuntu-13.10-desktop-amd64+mac.iso). My computer is a Mac mini 3,1.
