The same issue for Ubuntu-Gnome betta2 and daily build of Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 of Oct. 9 running in Virtualbox.
Tried to choose Install option (ubiquity-only) and Live session - the same result.
Also tried to choose Additional boot parameters (F6) and tried to delete quite splash from boot options - and again faced the same issue.

I appear to have this issue after today's (yesterday's?) set of updates to Saucy beta

I should add this occurs on my laptop running Ivy Bridge graphics, not on my older desktop running a C2D + HD4870.
