Bug Description

package maybe lxsession, but I really don't know.
---
I am testing Lubuntu 32-bit live session
Description: Ubuntu Saucy Salamander (development branch)
Release: 13.10
Codename: saucy
lubuntu@lubuntu:~$ uname -a
Linux lubuntu 3.9.0-4-generic #9-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 5 16:52:32 UTC 2013 i686 athlon i686 GNU/Linux

in a computer with this mobo http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M2NVM_DVI/
and an amd 4400+ dual core cpu and 2 GB RAM.
---
The shutoff button and the logout submenu from the main menu are dead. Nothing happens when I click on them, and I don't know what package to file the bug against.

Other panel options and menu items work as intended.

It is possible to shutdown and reboot from the terminal window.

Just for the record, even while I'm on the 'Live Desktop' of Saucy, I can't shutdown nor reboot.

And by the way, just for the record again, I did update the installation of Saucy but still can not shutdown nor reboot.

open a terminal and type

sudo shutdown now.

System starts stopping processes but in the end you'll be stuck in a root mode: root@lubuntu: ~#

if you type again

you'll keep stuck.

The updates to fix this are now in Saucy proposed updates but they do not effect the 20130625.2 images.

I have upgraded Lubuntu x64 from 13.04 to 13.10. I believe I have the latest lxsession, however the two logout methods (by start-menu and by lxpanel) are not working for me. When I press the shutdown button on my keyboard, Lubuntu shuts down immediately.

I have run "dpkg-reconfigure lxsession", but it had no effect.

Kernel: Linux AOD270 3.10.0-2-generic #10-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 5 18:03:52 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Lxsession: Architecture: amd64, Version: 0.4.9.2-0ubuntu5

Maybe the bug is still in the x64 version?
If not, what do you suggest to fix this minor issue?

This is actually a new bug, now the tree-view menu does not even appear when you click on "logout".

I mentioned it to Julien here:

https://lists.launchpad.net/lubuntu-qa/msg03068.html

And he responded privately but I've not had time to follow up :^(

Hi Erick,

I have fixed the issue manually, by changing the following files.

/usr/share/applications/lubuntu-logout.desktop (Fixed logout/power button on the taskbar on the right)
/home/arthur/.config/lxpanel/Lubuntu/config (Fixed logout button in the start menu on the left)
/usr/share/lxpanel/profile/Lubuntu (no effect for current user)
/usr/share/lubuntu/openbox/menu.xml (no effect for current user)
/usr/share/lubuntu/openbox/rc.xml (no effect for current user)
/usr/share/lubuntu/openbox/qt-rc.xml (no effect for current user)

Find and replace
- Find: lxsession-default quit
- Replace: lxsession-logout

I hope this helps to speed up the official release of Lubuntu 13.10.
If I can help somewhere else, let me know.

Greetings,
Arthur.
