Bug Description

Manual raring desktop installations do not start when using libvirt and KVM when not going through live session. This is observed with 20130215 raring desktop both amd64 and i386 installations.

Steps:
1. Use Virtual Machine Manager for the installation
2. Boot with the iso
3. Press Space bar at the 'Human-Keyboard' screen
4. Select 'Install ubuntu' on the next screen and hit Enter
5. There is no progress and the installation stops on the screen as given in the attachment. The plymouth does not appear either.
( Could not collect any logs because there was no response to any key presses)

Not pressing the Space bar at the 'Human-Keyboard' screen on Step 3 above also leads to the same failed screen as can be seen from the attached screenshot.

Selecting 'Try Ubuntu' on step 4 above goes to the live session and the installation could proceed fine from there. The issue is only when ubiquity is started straight away on step 4.

The Host machine has a 64 bit Quantal installation.

The installations work fine with hardware and when using Virtual Box. The issue only appears to occur when using libvirt usign KVM.

Could you retest with a current daily build? We think that https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/whoopsie/0.2.13ubuntu1 may have fixed this.

If this still happens, does it happen with kvm on its own (without libvirt)?

Retested with today's images 20130220 and could verify that the issue does NOT occur with any desktop images.
