Bug Description

1) Ubuntu 12.04.1 i386 daily build Alternate install testing
2) plymouth 0.8.2-2ubuntu30
3) I expected the normal boot splash Ubuntu with dots underneath.
4) I got a purple screen instead of the normal boot splash then for second right before the login screen the normal boot splash appears. I have attached two photo images to this bug report one with the blank purple screen and the other with the resulting login screen. Since the normal boot splash only last for such a short period of time I could not get a photo of it.

This is the expected behavior. The purple screen is loaded as soon as grub starts; the boot logo is loaded only once the kernel video drivers are available, which is comparatively much later in the boot. See bug #540801.
